Traditional Filled Pasta.

Pasta, obviously. Watch this space
I thought I had bought a mislabeled tub at first because there were peanut pieces on top (which were not listed in the ingredients, only the "may contain" warning), the gelato itself was about 90% vanilla, and the hazelnut swirl looked and tasted more like lightly salted caramel. Didn't finish it, but I got it reduced to clear, so at least I'm only out 5 bucks instead of 10.
The actual ice cream itself is pretty good. It’s light, fluffy and creamy.
But there is a pathetic amount of pistachio. Apart from the thin layer smeared around the side, there is a single line of filling through the centre. At best, I would say about a similar size to a straw.
Plus pistachio paste (if they even used the proper stuff) is thick and hard to mix, especially when it’s in a FROZEN dessert. So any filling you do get is in one mouthful. While that is delicious, all it leaves you with is a $12 tub of basic vanilla ice cream.
Why they didn’t incorporate pistachio into the rest of the ice cream? I have no idea.
Overall, if you like a plain vanilla ice cream with a hint of pistachio and a side of getting scammed, I’m sure you will love this.
Bought this 3 days ago from IGA East Bentleigh. Intense peanut butter flavour, especially at the bottom of the container. No hazelnut taste. Bit worrying. My son has peanut anaphylaxis and there is only the "May Contain Peanut, Egg, Almond..." warning, which is a bit disingenuous. Clearly peanuts are part of the recipe! Please investigate this so no-one gets hurt.
